Full Name: Ndo Mdlalose (Clinical Psychologist)
Ms. Mdlalose is a registered Clinical Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa and Medical & Dental council of Swaziland. She obtained her M.A Clinical Psychology degree from the University of Pretoria. She is the President of Ndonyamanzi Innovation Consultancy as well as a Clinical Psychologist in private practice at the Mbabane & Manzini clinic, as well as Medi Sun.
Highlights and Achievements so far
Her occupational history originates at UNPD Pretoria, where she worked as a counselor specifically HIV/AIDS counseling. Among her duties, she coordinated employee assistance programmes for the UNDP staff with emphasis on stress in the workplace, substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, disability, loss & trauma to name but a few. Upon completion of her studies, Ms. Mdlalose worked at Weskoppies Psychiatric Institution, Pretoria as an intern psychologist. She then worked at the Baylor College of Medicine, Children's Clinic where she was exposed to HIV/AIDS counseling, training, ARV adherence counseling as well as trauma, death and dying preparation and bereavement counseling. Ms Mdlalose has recently moved back to Swaziland after working for the South African Military Health Services in Nelspruit, where she was involved with counseling and psychotherapeutic services, as well as facilitating employee wellness programmes. As a consultant, Ms Mdlalose has worked locally as well as internationally. Being affiliated with REDI, she has worked with Royal Swaziland Sugar Corporation (RSSC) and Swaziland National Provident Fund (SNPF) employees on numerous occasions, providing counseling and psycho-therapeutic services at the time of retrenchment and restructuring in the company. She also provided her psychotherapeutic and counseling services to SWADE for trauma debriefing, counseling, life and effective management skills. She has recently embarked on counseling and employee wellness programmes and talks to SOS children's village staff, HAPAC and Swazi Trails. Ms Mdlalose is also providing employee assistance programme services to Swaziland Electricity Company as well as Royal Swaziland Police. She is now at the final stages of the completion of a National Strategic Plan for Combating HIV/AIDS Stigma and Discrimination for the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, supported by UNDP, WHO, UNAIDS, NERCHA and the Italian Cooperation. She is also a board member of Young Heroes as well as the Swaziland Women's Empowerment Foundation (SWEF) following appointment by Her Majesty, The Indlovukati. Internationally, she has presented a paper on HIV and children in Lesotho, and a paper on counseling children effectively at the 5th International Social Development Conference. She has also provided counseling and psychotherapeutic services in Johannesburg's motor company for trauma debriefing. Ms. Mdlalose has on numerous occasions worked through media namely; SBIS 2 on behavior change in relation to HIV for NERCHA, Sunday Times, Swazi TV and Mpumalanga News for expert commentary on exclusive news. She also has worked as a consultant for Metropolitan Life, teaching and facilitating life & study skills to young aspiring actuarial scientists. Other Profiles
